Renters insurance policies are designed to cover you – the renter – in the event of loss to your personal property and protect you in the event you are responsible for injury or property damage to others in your rented apartment, home, or condo. A shocking 75% of renters do not have renters insurance coverage.
Weaver Rentals does not require you to have renter’s insurance; however, we strongly recommend you do. Renters insurance is relatively inexpensive and will save you a lot of money in the event of a loss.
Renters insurance can cover replacement or repair of your personal property damaged, destroyed, or stolen as the result of various types of peril – fire or lightning, windstorm or hail, explosions, smoke, vandalism, theft, damage by glass, electrical surge damage, water related damage from utilities, and more. Renters insurance can also provide temporary housing if your units becomes unlivable.
Many renters are under the impression that their landlord’s policy covers their belongings as well. That is not the case. Your landlords policy does not cover anything that belongs to you.
We recommend you contact your present insurance company (company providing coverage for your vehicle or your cosigners homeowners coverage). If you need a local agent we will be happy to provide a referral.
